Staircases, not elevators, provide access to upper floors. In addition to three pools, two hot tubs, and barbecue grills, the grounds contain two shuffleboard courts and a putting green. Though Waipouli Beach, 150 yards away, is considered unsafe for all but strong swimmers and surfers, it is a lovely walking beach, with perfect sunrise views and whale-watching opportunities during the humpback winter migration.
An award-winning municipal golf course is three miles from the hotel; championship golf is eight miles away.
In the lobby, an activity desk arranges luaus, excursions up the nearby Wailua River, helicopter sightseeing trips to North Kauai's spectacular Napali Coast, and all other activities available on the entire island.
